Awaken your potential

Mission:

Empowering Sierra Leone’s most marginalised girls with disabilities and vulnerable young women. To transform them into development partners through safe support networks, skill-building, health and well-being enhancement, and community engagement, fostering sustainable personal, familial, and societal growth.

Paestiny Extraordinary Women is a registered Sierra Leonean non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting girls with disabilities and “At Risk”young women, a vulnerable group often faced with systemic stigmatisation, marginalisation and numerous barriers. These barriers include limited access to education, healthcare, justice, and civic participation, leading to a lower socio-economic status and heightened risk of violence and abuse.

Our organization is committed to addressing these gaps, ensuring the rights and full participation of girls with disabilities and “At Risk” young women in line with global conventions and sustainable development goals to transform them into development partners.

Our approach is rooted in collaboration with other organisations and institutions for greater impact;

  • To identify and group “At Risk” young women and girls with disabilities in communities found in the Western Area Rural district
  • We do not just support the disabled girl-child, we guide, train, and empower the family to support them.
  • Provide support for formal education for school-aged girls with disabilities
  • Organise and do referral to establishments offering physio therapy, psychosocial counselling, mental health and seminars for girls with disabilities and “At Risk” young women in the Western Area Rural District
  • Provide skills-training to empower beneficiaries based on type of disability for independent living.
  • Support disabled girls and young women that have successfully completed a training program, to seek for self or paid employment.
